This is How We Do It

We introduced Kam to the exersaucer today

And he wasn't crazy about it

Of course Aidan Kale decided he wanted to play too

And then he decided to show Kam how it's done

Mommy DOESN'T know best

Some days I think I have parenting figured out, I get this great idea and am so proud....I feel like the best mom-mom in the world....

Take Thursday for example, for the past week or so all Aidan Kale has talked about (loudly)every morning is "MOUSE"...."MICKEY MOUSE"..."EEs" (DVD) and we have zero Mickey Mouse DVDs, so I have to hear him "ask" me to turn on these non-existent Mickey Mouse DVDs every morning from the time he wakes up (6:00 am) until the time Mickey Mouse Clubhouse comes on the Disney Channel (6:30 am). So this brilliant Mommy used her Best Buy Reward points and purchased TWO Mickey Mouse EEs and then promptly went to Best Buy that night to pick them up.......Problem Solved! Not so much........

The first indication that I might be in trouble is when we got to Best Buy and Aidan was willing to sacrifice Mickey (lay the Mouse EE down) for a set of random electronic cables. Then on the ride home for some reason he decided a fit was in order and threw the EE onto the floorboard of the vehicle, could have been because I would not buy him candy! Once we were home he did not want to get out of the car and in good conscience I could not leave him outside in 100 degree weather. So I had Daddy carry him in kicking and screaming. Once inside I started to abuse him by changing his diaper and apparently that was the last straw........I am not sure how long he cried in his room but long enough for me to feel like somehow I had failed as this was not the evening I had planned.

Then I had an idea......"Aidan Kale, come watch Mickey Mouse with me".
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

So thinking I knew best, once he came into the living room I proceeded to put the EE into the EE player and tada my son decided to shut my hand in the door that houses the EE player and shout "NO, NO, NO, NO....."

I finally responded with "This isn't for you Aidan, Kamden and Mommy are going to watch Mickey Mouse, just turn your head".

So Kam watched Mickey

And Aidan, well he was just Aidan

Let them be little.......

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand. You felt so good in it; no bigger than a minute.

How it amazes me you're changin' with every blink.Faster than a flower blooms, they grow up all too soon.

So let them be little,'Cause they're only that way for a while.

Give 'em hope, give them praise,Give them love every day.

Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,Let 'em sleep in the middle,Oh, but let them be little.

I never felt so much in one little tender touch.I live for those kisses, your prayers an' your wishes. An' now you're teachin' me how only a child can see.

Tonight, while we're on our knees, all I ask is: Please, let them be little,'Cause they're only that way for a while.

Give them hope, give them praise,Give them love every day.Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,Let 'em sleep in the middle,Oh, but let them be little.

The so innocent, precious soul:You turn around, an' it's time to let them go.

So let them be little,'Cause they're only that way for a while.

Give them hope, give 'em praise,Give them love every day.

Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,Let them sleep in the middle,Oh, but let them be little.

Let them be little.

~May I never forget these days are fleeting and my babies will only be little once~

Athelete in Training

As most of you know, my husband was an athelete, a very talented athelete and his desire is to have boys who are also very talented atheletes. There is no doubt in my mind that Aidan and Kamden will both be able to field a hard hit baseball at shortstop and catch a pass for a touchdown like a certain Joplin Eagle whom I admired while sitting in the stands at Joe Becker and Junge.

BUT, as we played football outside and Daddy attempted to hike and pass, I came to the conclusion that Aidan Kale isn't that athelete yet, in fact he has his own game plan............

Hand off from Daddy

Run to the fence

Push the Football under the fence

Have Daddy retrieve

Repeat until Daddy tackles and tickles

AND THE FANS GO WILD!!!!

Happy Father's Day

One Father gave me life, taught me how to throw a ball, ride a bike and is a wonderful Dapa

Another Father helped bring an incredible man into the world, taught him to throw a ball and ride a bike and is a very patient Tepa

Then there is that incredible man who changes diapers, gives great smooches, sacrifices anything, makes a mean tuna steak, cleans house and still makes my heart flutter

Who will teach our boys to throw a ball and ride a bike

Who always makes time for our children and has inherited his Father's patience

And last but not least we are so blessed to have other special Fathers in our life

PAPA

UNCLE LUTHER

GRANDPA BILL

UNCLE TODD

Thank You Fathers, Daddy, Grandpas and Uncles......We LOVE you!!!!

Tales from the Sand Box

Last night we went to the College Heights Church Picnic and had a wonderful time (thank you to our wonderful friends the FINKS) UNTIL Aidan had to wait in line for a bouncy house.........after a complete meltdown, we decided we should probably go home.

Once we got home we let him play outside in the sandbox for a while........

A little sand here............

and here.............

Oh and what about here.............

After flinging sand at mommy, it was time for a bath.........

And then when it was time to put Aidan Kale to bed he had yet one more special request.......

His "Bubba"
Awwwwwwww.............
