A Little of This and That...

First things first...
I worked on a blog button all evening for the upcoming Favorite Holiday Finds...
I am a bit frustrated because as you can see...
There is not a button to reveal...UGH!
Second, I have some great upcoming giveaways for November and because I am working to secure these there will NOT be a Favorite Finds Friday giveaway today...
However, I will announce the winner of the Divine Line photo blocks as soon as possible...
Third, Aidan Kale had his Halloween party at Pre-School and he was an adorable "woo woo" (police officer)...
As I turned on my camera and started taking pictures, I remembered I left my memory card in my laptop...
Thank goodness my mom let me use hers and there are a few photos I will share this weekend...
Fourth, my sister and her family (my two awesome nephews) are coming to town today...
And it seems like we will be spending the next three days partying...
YEAH!
So forgive me if I am not blogging much, I have a 10 month old to smooch on...
And finally, my husband decided last night that we needed to dress up as prisoners since our boys will be "woo woos"...
I have tasked him with the job of finding those costumes TWO days before Halloween...
We will see...
Let's just hope he doesn't choose one of these for me...
Not the look I'm going for...

What Marriage Needs...

Does your evening look something like mine?
Dinner, baths, brush teeth, read book, lights out...
Drink of water...
Extra "mooch"...
Fan on, fan off...
And by the time the kids are asleep...
You would like to be...
I write this as a reminder to myself as much as to my readers...
When I find that my husband and I are bickering more than usual...
Not helping each other out as much...
Harboring the I do more than you attitude...
It is because we have allowed days to pass without really focusing on each other...
When I look at him, I overlook how handsome he is... How good he smells...
How his hand wraps perfectly around mine...
I've spent more time nagging than flirting...
Sitting on the other side of the couch when watching our favorite TV shows...
And yet in a simple moment...
One of us reaches out to the other...
A pure gesture of love and affection...
And it all comes rushing back...
I feel 15 again...
My heart rate soars...
I am 18 again...
And can't imagine living without him...
I am 30 again...
Promising forever...
We reconnect...
And our marriage survives...
The balancing act of parenting...

Dining Room Chairs Recovered...

Years ago before I had my precious little boys...
I had nice, pristine cream color cushioned dining room chairs...
I freaked if anyone dropped anything on them...
Scrubbed for hours...
But eventually my boys had them looking like this...

Buying new dining room chairs is out of the question as the boys are still small and I have no desire to waste money...
So we chose a dark color microfiber...
Unscrewed the cushions...
And stapled on the new fabric...

They are far from perfect underneath...
BUT...

They look so much better and will last until the boys are older and I am comfortable investing in something new again...

The Annual Maple Leaf Festival (WARNING LOTS OF PICTURES)...

Crisp mornings...
Colors of crimson and gold...
The smell of cider...
Flickering lights of a jack-o-lantern...
And the annual Maple Leaf Festival with Nama and Dapa...

Aidan made lots of friends {as usual}...
And we left with two very tired, but happy little boys...
